More information about the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica: The Chrysler Pacifica starts at under $28,000, where it competes with other minivans such as the Toyota Sienna and the Honda Odyssey, both of which it undercuts a little bit on price. However the entire minivan segment holds a ton of value, by virtue of being cheaper to own and operate than the myriad of medium and large SUVs out in the world. The Chrysler Pacifica combines a ton of space, with relatively compact and easy to park exterior dimensions, along with a curb weight that makes car-like mpg figures a reality. The Pacifica is also available with a ton of luxurious and entertaining features, which will really show their value on long road trips with children in tow. But no matter the equipment level, the new Pacifica is a fantastic value. Interesting features of this model are relatively compact outer dimensions, advanced drivetrains, smooth, sleek styling, Spacious and comfortable interior, and third row seating
The Chrysler Pacifica is currently available with just one engine, the 3.6L "Pentastar" V6. This engine is used throughout Chrysler and Dodge's lineups for a few very good reasons, it's powerful, it's fuel efficient and it's refined. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. With 287 hp on tap, the Pacifica is perhaps a little faster than it really needs to be, but on-ramps and merging should be a snap. Chrysler even claims up to 28 mpg on the highway with this engine. For those who want a little better fuel economy, a hybrid version of the Pacifica will be available later in the year. With the ability to run on electricity alone for up to 30 miles, the Pacifica Hybrid will be the first hybrid-powered minivan available in the U.S. The Pacifica comes in five different trim levels that take the vehicle from somewhat basic, to full-on luxury. The base Pacifica LX comes with several notable standard features, including keyless entry, heated exterior mirrors, 17-inch aluminum wheels, 3-zone climate control, a backup camera, a USB media hub, a 6-speaker stereo with noise cancellation, voice command-activated Bluetooth, an 8-way adjustable powered driver's seat and fog lamps. The Touring trim costs just a smidge more than the LX and features powered sliding doors, SiriusXM satellite radio and automatic high beams. The Touring L trim adds leather seating surfaces, nicer wheels, a power rear liftgate, heated first row seats and additional exterior chrome. The Touring L Plus ups the ante even more and really starts to take the Pacifica into luxury vehicle territory. It adds a Uconnect theater system, a 13-speaker sound system, a power front passenger seat, heated second row seats, a heated steering wheel and power rear windows. The top of the line Limited version adds Napa leather seating surfaces, ventilated front seats, power third row seats, a navigation system, a built in vacuum cleaner and a tri-pane panoramic sunroof. Options are pretty copious on the Pacifica and several notable packages are also available. Stand outs include a 760-watt Harman/Kardon 20-speaker stereo, an advanced safety package with all manner of electronic safety aids and a tow package that includes a trailer sway control system to keep everything in check out back.
